After initial discussion with your physiotherapist regarding your child’s condition, current problem(s) and medical history, your child will be assessed physically, looking at things such as:

- Strength
- Balance
- Observation of posture
- Mobility
Treatment
Physiotherapy treatment for orthopaedic conditions may include:
- Stretching exercises
- Strengthening exercises
- Postural correction and education
- Mobilisation
- Therapeutic exercises
- Soft tissue massage
- Advice and education for parents / carers / teachers
Physiotherapy interventions and methods will vary depending on your child’s problem or condition. Normally exercises will be provided that can be incorporated into daily activities both at school and at home.
