Subjective assessment
This assessment involves your physiotherapist taking a detailed history of your problem, asking questions about:
- The onset and cause of the pain
- The nature, location and behaviour of pain

- Work and leisure activities
Objective assessment
The objective assessment is a physical examination which looks at:

The physiotherapist will then diagnose your problem based on the combined assessment findings, and then discuss your best route forward to help the problem. Exercises and advice will also be provided to the patient to perform between physiotherapy sessions to maximise recovery.
