Headaches
Headaches are commonly treated by physiotherapists at Manchester Physio in Sale. Cervicogenic headaches are the type of headaches normally treated.

What to expect when you come to Manchester Physio?
Your first appointment with Manchester Physio will initially involve two assessments:
Subjective assessment
Your physiotherapist will take a thorough history of your problem. This includes finding out about:
- Onset of problem
- Pain severity, symptoms and patterns
- Aggravating / easing factors
- Past medical history
- Current medication
- Work and leisure activities
Objective assessment
An objective assessment is a physical examination that looks at:
- Passive and active range of movement
- Observation of posture
- Areas of tenderness
- Muscle strength
- Neurological tests
- Special tests
These assessments will allow your physiotherapist to diagnose your problem, and discuss with you the best way to move forward. If physiotherapy is appropriate for your problem treatment will commence immediately. Treatment may involve a combination of methods including:
- Exercise programme
- Massage
- Postural advice
- Mobilisation / manipulation
- Education
Often exercises are provided to take home and perform between physiotherapy sessions, to speed up recovery.
